What's in a Name?
Curious about the name Redan Construction?
Well...we'll tell you about it!
A "redan" is a triangular fortification projecting from a protective wall that acts as the first line of defense from naval assault. In 1706, the Walled City of Charles Towne had three redans in the brick seawall along the Cooper River. These redans still exist today under the streets and buildings in modern Charleston.
The redans that protected Charleston are a great example of how a strong foundation, ingenious design, and quality craftsmanship can last for generations. We believe these things are a good foundation for our construction company too!
